During the live broadcast, Lily tried to figure out where she stood on whether or not she could forgive someone who cheated on her.

No, of course, I’m not on board with cheating. Not on board with cheating. That’s not the problem. Obviously, you’re going to be angry; you’re going to be mad.

During her answer, Lily emphasized that since she’s never been cheated on, she can’t say for certain how she’d react if she experienced it.

Because I’ve never been in that situation before so, I don’t know exactly how I’d react. It’s really easy for me as someone who’s never gone through it to be just like, “No, absolutely not. I don’t understand in any way people that forgive cheating.” But at the same time, a lot of people forgive cheating, and you see them and especially if the person is so remorseful and they’re like, “I’ll never do it again. I’ll never do it again. I swear, I swear.” And then, well, you know, sometimes it can be hard. I don’t know. I’m thinking about it.

But her gut feeling told her that she wouldn’t be able to forgive someone who had cheated on her.

Like my gut reaction is telling me, “No, never forgive it. Never.” But at the same time, it can be hard.

Still, she understood there might be different situations in which someone would forgive the person who cheated on them.

I think every situation is different; every person is different… So I feel like for me, I’m never going to judge anyone else if they do that. I mean, well, sure, I might judge, but I probably wouldn’t say anything. I would try to understand. But for me, if it was me, case by case. Yeah. Exactly. For now, I’m just saying no. I think it’s kind of mostly unforgivable.

Similarly, Lily wasn’t sure whether or not a cheater would be able to learn from their mistake and truly grow as a person as she read one fan’s comment.

Cheaters can change for the better, but that doesn’t mean they should be forgiven.” Hmm, yeah. That’s another thing. Do you think cheaters can change?

… That one’s a hard one. But I’m mostly of the camp that people can change, but with cheating, I don’t know. I definitely think for sure people can change. But most of the time, I’ve just seen a lot of cases of serial cheaters, you know, so it’s difficult.

And ultimately, Lily wanted to emphasize one fan’s comment that it’s entirely up to the individual.

I think people can change, but I don’t think you have to forgive anyone for doing something wrong.” I agree. Obviously, it’s completely up to you whether you want to forgive someone or not. And there’s no shame in that.

Netizens were truly impressed by the consideration and wisdom Lily showed in her answer.

And many even hoped Lily might be given a podcast or a show where she could regularly share opinions like these.
