Its screenwriter is Park Ji Eun, who previously wrote Crash Landing on You, The Legend of the Blue Sea, My Love from the Star, and more. Queen of Tears has two directors, Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won. Jang, who is a director-producer, previously worked on Crash Landing on You, Sweet Home, and Mr. Sunshine. Kim is well-known for Vincenzo, Little Women, and Crash Landing on You.

With this talented crew and actors, viewers have been excited for its premiere, and it didn’t disappoint. They also noticed many more familiar faces from previous beloved K-Dramas.

Supporting actor Kwak Dong Yeon previously worked with both the male and female leads in previous K-Dramas. He portrayed Ae Rae’s (Kim Ji Won) ex-boyfriend, who cheated on her in Fight for My Way. She finally got her revenge as she low-key beat him up in Queen of Tears! In this K-Drama, he plays Hae In’s younger brother.

Kwak Dong Yeon also had a small role in Kim Soo Hyun’s popular K-Drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. He played Kwon Gi Do in Episodes 3, 4, and 16.

Speaking of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay… Actor Oh Jung Se appeared in Queen of Tears in Episode 1 as Baek Hyun Woo’s (Kim Soo Hyun) psychiatrist. The two previously played brothers in their hit K-Drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.

There are many other familiar faces and cameos throughout Queen of Tears so far. Since its writer and directors all worked on Crash Landing on You, you will also recognize several actors from it. Ko Kyu Pil and Lim Chul Soo, who worked for Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin), appear to be in Queen of Tears, too, as staff of Queens, watching Hyun Woo whenever he goes drinking.

Kim Young Min, who was also in Crash Landing on You, also appears in Queen of Tears. Lee Ji Hye previously appeared in My Liberation Notes with Kim Ji Won.
