3rd Generation Boy Group Admits To Fighting Everyday, Explains How They Hid It From The Public

Block B is one of the most iconic 3rd generation K-Pop groups. Composed of members Zico, Taeil, B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, Park Kyung, and P.O, they made a name for themselves with their strong hip hop anthems such as “Nillili Mambo,” “Nalina,” “H.E.R,” and “Very Good.”

In the MBC variety show The Manager, Zico and P.O met up for the first time in a while for a meal. They reminisced on their past as idols, talking about their stage performances as well as their relationship with one another. Regarding the latter, they revealed that they often fought behind the scenes.

Back then, we tried our hardest to not stay together.

Zico, the leader, and P.O, the youngest member, often butted heads over any topic under the sun. Misunderstandings were easy to come by with these two, such as the former finding the latter’s dancing on stage “weird.”

You said that during the dry rehearsal when our manager filmed our choreography only my hand would look different. So you would say, ‘[P.O], you’re weird! You gotta dance properly.‘ [And I’d say] ‘It’s the same!’

It came to the point where they were arguing every single day. This was easy to hide from the public, however, because of their bad boy concept. Their hard-hitting performances required them to be anything but bubbly in front of the camera, and so being angry in real life helped them exude an even more intimidating aura on stage.

We fought literally everyday. But it wasn’t so obvious for us because even if we do fight, it wasn’t anything that had a massive influence over our music. You know our music is already hardcore.

P.O agreed, saying, “The anger inside you actually helped us perform better. You look even more spiteful.”

Now that they’ve halted group activities, their relationship is stronger than ever. They even feel empty without each other’s constant aggravating presence.

Since we met each other so often, it was tiresome to be together 24/7. But you feel their emptiness only when they’re gone.

P.O

Looking back now, their past is filled with good memories—even the ones that were originally negative.

It’s funny how that talking about the good ol’ days is fun whenever I come here.
