Netflix‘s upcoming drama series, XO, Kitty, has been highly-anticipated by fans of the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise. And with the recent release of the official trailer, fans of the series finally have a look at what the upcoming drama series will have in store.

XO, Kitty follows Kitty (Anna Cathcart), Lara Jean (Lana Condor)’s little sister, as she attends an international academy in Seoul, South Korea, to surprise her boyfriend, Dae.

In the final film of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Kitty and her family visit South Korea where Kitty first meets Dae. In the movie, Dae was played by Jeon Ho Young.

But in the upcoming drama series trailer, Dae is now played by Choi Min Young.

Although no official statement was announced for the recasting, fans are pretty confident that Jeon Ho Young’s busy schedule is why the recast was necessary. Although Jeon Ho Young’s acting career includes dramas like Lady Cha Dal-rae’s Lover and Yumi’s Cells…

He has gained the most attention for his recent appearance in Mnet‘s latest survival show, Boy’s Planet.

Although Jeon Ho Young was eventually eliminated from the survival show in the fifth episode, he was likely preparing for Boy’s Planet at the time of the filming for XO, Kitty. Similarly, if he had been selected as part of the final line-up and debuted as a member of ZEROBASEONE, which couldn’t have been known until after filming finished, it would have become challenging to include him in any possible future seasons of XO, Kitty.

Instead, Choi Min Young was cast, and viewers can look forward to seeing his acting in the series, as he is well known for his roles in dramas like Twenty Five Twenty One.
