Fans were thrilled when YG Entertainment confirmed that BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo was filming the music video for her solo debut.
According to the label, the music video has the “largest production budget amongst all BLACKPINK videos,” and its location was overseas.
BLACKPINK’s music videos have always been visually stimulating and have given off the most luxurious vibes…
…so fans were left wondering what could be in store for Jisoo’s MV. Eagle-eyed fans quickly discovered that part of the budget included an exclusive filming location usually only used for Hollywood films and productions!
Shortly after the announcement of her filming, one of Jisoo’s team shared a photo of a set, with the location of Los Angeles, California tagged.
The film set in the photo is likely the New York Street set at Universal Studios Los Angeles!
One of several filming sets at Universal, New York Street has appeared in countless Hollywood productions, including Transformers, Bruce Almighty, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
While other musicians like Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga have also filmed music content here, few K-Pop acts have filmed at this location.
In 2013, INFINITE became the first K-Pop group to use the set to film their “Destiny” music video. This music video was one of the most expensive ever filmed at the time!
Jisoo was probably thrilled about the filming location, as Universal Studios is also home to a massive Hello Kitty store!
Everything so far is pointing to a truly epic solo debut for Jisoo!
