According to a statistic published by Kyobo Research Center, out of all the prominent fourth-generation girl groups in K-Pop, NewJeans has the highest percentage of female fans, with around 78 out of 100 buyers of their album being female.
The study was based on the numbers recorded by Alladin, a popular e-commerce platform used by K-Pop consumers to buy albums. The other girl groups included in the study were StayC, (G)-IDLE, Aespa, Kep1er, NMIXX, ITZY, LE SSERAFIM, and IVE.
According to the buyer data, NewJeans has the highest concentration of female fans, followed closely by StayC at 76% and Kep1er at 71%. On the other hand, groups like IVE and Itzy almost have an equal distribution of male-female ratio at 47:53 and 46:54. LE SSERAFIM is the only group that has a slightly higher concentration of male buyers, with 52 out of 100 buyers being male.
Netizens are pleasantly surprised by these numbers since many expected groups like IVE and Kep1er to have a much higher number of male buyers. NewJeans probably has one of the most shocking numbers, given how many fans were worried that their concept might be targeting older men.
